Eating is an important topic since we are all involved in this activity everyday of our lives. Over the years of studying holistic living and spiritual practices, I believe that eating should be a healing experience. What we eat eventually becomes our tissues and cells, hence the term “you are what you eat.” When contemplating this idea, it raises one main question, “how is the quality and value of the food we are taking into our bodies?”

I grew up in a household where food was brought into our home based on its price and the trendiness of what was advertised by the food industry. It wasn’t until I graduated high school that I was formally taught about good nutrition practices and saw the life-changing capacity it could have in my life.

A few years ago I dove even deeper into food and lifestyle education. I enrolled into the health coaching certification program with The Institute of Integrative Nutrition in 2013. As for my approach, I strive to eat in a way that brings out my best self. I want to be radiant, vital, energetic (when needed) and relaxed (when needed). Essentially, I strive to help my body function at optimum levels.

Since there is a lot that goes into this, I designed a list of guidelines and principles that I share with clients in my Living Essentials Program. The entire goal is that by addressing the essential factors of living, we all can lead a healthy, happy and optimal life.
